Office of Accessibility, Inclusion, and Disability Services for Students (DSS)

The Office of Accessibility, Inclusion and Disability Services for Students (DSS) recognizes disability as a form of cultural diversity and works to foster an inclusive environment for all students in the higher education community.  DSS is the College’s designated agent for determining eligibility, facilitating access, and coordinating accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities under the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Academic accommodations include, but are not limited to, the use of assistive technology, alternative testing sites, extended time for assessments, course accommodations, and sign language interpreters.

Students are responsible for identifying themselves to the DSS office by completing the New Student Application for Accommodations and submitting appropriate documentation through the secure Accommodate portal. For more specific information, please visit the Getting Started with DSS section of the website.

Students already registered with DSS must request their accommodations letters each semester so that their faculty receive the information through the secure Accommodate portal.

In addition, the DSS office serves as a resource to faculty and staff, and promotes a campus environment that is sensitive, accepting, and responsive to the needs and contributions of all CCRI students. The best way to contact the office is via email at dss@ccri.edu. You may also reach DSS via phone at 401-333-7329.
