Access is a TRIO Student Support Services program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education. ACCESS serves 440 students each year across CCRI’s four campuses and offers individualized support to students from acceptance into a program through graduation from CCRI. Services include academic, career, transfer and financial aid advising, and financial literacy. Student Success coaches offer workshops designed to address academic skill building and college adjustment. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in an associate degree program, and must meet one of the following criteria: be the first generation in college (neither parent completed a baccalaureate degree), low-income, and/or have a documented disability. Access Plus (Access+) is a TRIO Student Support Services program that provides individualized support to students who have a documented disability and are pursuing a degree at CCRI. Eligible students receive high-touch holistic advising, including academic advising and support, career exploration, financial aid, financial literacy, and transfer information. The goal of Access+ is to help students successfully graduate and transfer to a 4-year college or university. All services are provided at no cost to Access+ students. To be eligible, students must have a documented disability and enrolled in a program of study at CCRI as well as demonstrate an academic need for services and a strong commitment to their education.
