Writing Center

The Writing Center supports students at every stage of the writing process and welcomes writers of all skill levels. Locations on each CCRI campus offer in-person writing support, along with online appointments, during both daytime and evening hours, creating flexible options to meet students’ needs.

Through engaging one-on-one sessions, Writing Center tutors help students:

• Develop and strengthen writing  skills

• Brainstorm and plan ideas

• Organize drafts and clarify structure

• Revise for focus, development, and clarity

• Integrate and cite research and sources

Writing Center tutors work with students on any type of writing, at any point in the process. Our approach is collaborative and supportive, grounded in the belief that all writers make choices about their own work. Tutors serve as partners who offer guidance, encouragement, and strategies to help writers. Our goal is not only to improve individual pieces of writing, but also to help students grow as confident, independent writers.
